Thirty-Eight Percent of Americans Plan to Travel for Labor Day Weekend |

Almost One-Third of Respondents Admit that Rising Fuel Costs Affecting Plans; but Majority Will Still Drive Rather Than Fly

TripAdvisor(TM), the largest travel community in the world, recently conducted a survey of more than 1,200 U.S. travelers, revealing that 38 percent intend to hit the road for the Labor Day weekend. Among those traveling for the holiday, 62 percent plan to travel by car and 34 percent intend to fly. Twenty-nine percent of travelers said that the rising cost of fuel is affecting their Labor Day plans. More than half of those taking trips (52 percent) will stay at a hotel or bed and breakfast, while 24 percent plan to stay with family or friends.
